Learn to Skate
The Rockford Park District’s beginning skating program is designed to help children and adults achieve their goals, whether they pursue any ice sport recreationally or competitively.
Try the first week for FREE! No experience necessary, get started and watch your skills grow as you progress through our lesson programs.

Baby Blades
Designed for tots 18 months to 2 years old, who are experiencing skating for the first time. We will have off-ice play and an on-ice lesson. This class is a great way to get our littlest skaters excited about taking the ice! Helmets and skates are required and available on site, if needed.
First Strides
First-time skaters will grow their confidence and inevitably fall in love with the ice as they take their First Strides! Helmets and skates are required and available on site, if needed.
Super Strides
Skating skills are enhanced through games and fun. Watch your skater thrive as they progress! Helmets and skates are required and available on site, if needed.
PREREQUISITE: First Strides and/or the ability to skate around the ice without assistance
Adult Edge Learn to Skate
Learn the fundamentals of skating following the U.S. Figure Skating Adult 1-6 program. As your progress through the curriculum, skills will increase with difficulty.
